We had fun experiencing a potlatch. We ate food, sang songs and danced, as well as sharing our necklaces and signing the Kindergarten and First Grade Peace Treaty. The best part was going inside the tipi-so cool!

In the garden
Bright and early, in the chilly air, both Kindergarten classes worked in the garden. We harvested lettuce, bok choy and beets. We continued preparing the beds by adding soil and making sure it was level. Last, we smelled cloves of garlic and each child planted a clove. The garlic will be ready next Spring.
Stay tuned....

The first week of November
K2 started out the week in the garden. We learned about what happens to the soil if it doesn't have a "blanket" or cover crop.
We also prepared several plots of land.
The kids were given some wheat seeds. These are the seeds that will be planted as a cover crop.
Ms. Lisa soaked the wheat seeds and we tasted them!
This week, we also celebrated 50s Day because we've been to school for 50 days. We talked about the cars, music, clothes and phones of the 50s. Of course, we tasted Coke floats and root beer floats!
Once again, Kindergarten rocks!
